The Bishop’s Daredevil Stunt Club has an album release party coming up this Friday, July 1 as part of an impressive three-act Power Pop Shoppe Showcase at Reggies Music Joint. The band has a solid track record (pun intended) for recording hard-edged power pop, so expect more of the same from Please Stand By. A few singles have already released as an enticing preview of the new album.
The Unswept is a fun trio that successfully incorporated other genres within its Brit Invasion origins on the recently released Fast Casual album. (See my June 21 review.) The four-piece Gal Gun released Critical Hit, its latest collection of catchy power pop tunes, in 2020. All three acts are from the Chicago area; Reggies is located at 2105 S. State Street.
