Happy Birthday to Bobby Elliott, who started drumming for The Hollies in the early 1960s and never left them. He and guitarist Tony Hicks are the only remaining original members in current Hollies lineup. The band hasn’t toured for a while, but you never know what the future might bring. Among professional musicians and music critics, Elliott is regarded as an inventive rock and roll drummer who frequently incorporated elements of jazz. Judging from Elliott’s 2020 autobiography It Ain’t Heavy, It’s My Story - My Life In The Hollies, he’s justifiably proud of his musical accomplishments.
