Rocking Stuffers Part 3: Stickers

This series aims to showcase items that could fit inside a traditional holiday stocking and be presented as a fun, customized present. Along with candy and fruit, these stockings would be stuffed with entertainment-focused ‘toys.’ If someone on your gift list has a favorite band, movie, TV show, etc., a bit of online shopping can turn up t-shirts, mugs, buttons, pins, action figures, and other treasures.

Today’s focus is on stickers. Sure, kids love plastering them on everything within reach, but many adults have become serious collectors. Musicians, radio stations, record labels, and cafes, as well as major companies, recognize these miniature art pieces as a fun way to call attention to their brand. Artists selling their work at sci-fi events often include stickers as part of their wares. A U.K. artist known as Stuff By Mark on Instagram has over 500 rock and roll stickers for sale on the RedBubble website.

But first, a quick shout out to some of my favorite artists on Instagram. Chsignor Art; Claudia Aguilera; Evan Art; Ray Kimura; and Reluctant Martyrs don’t offer their work in sticker form, but I always look forward to their posts. Stuff By Mark specializes in presenting punk and new wave acts in colorful comic art settings that mimic comic book or paperback covers; bubblegum packaging; Saturday morning cartoons; or cereal boxes. Even the ones rendered in square shapes are eye-catching. Most of the stickers are priced at $1.71, so you can go nuts on this site. After you’ve finished the Stuff By Mark Section (he also has t-shirts and posters for sale), check out the All Stickers page on RedBubble for other amazing and often funny options.
